Guan’s Mushroom Co Recalls Enoki Mushrooms News – Guan’s Mushroom Co of Commerce, CA is recalling its Enoki Mushrooms due to a possible Listeria monocytogenes contamintation as a result of testing from the State of California.
Guan’s Mushroom Co Recall Information
On March 23, 2020, Guan’s Mushroom Co recalled all cases of its 200g/7.05 ounce packages of Enoki Mushroom (Product of Korea) due to a potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recalled Enoki Mushrooms were distributed through produce distributors at retail stores and wholesalers in California, New York, and Pennsylvania.
The Enoki Mushrooms come in 200g/7.05ounces, with clear plastic packaging. The description “Enoki Mushroom” in English, Korean and French, and Guan’s logo is on the front with the UPC code: 859267007013 and package code 14-1 at lower right corner of the back of the packaging.
The product is being shipped in a white cardboard box with 25 pieces of 200g. The box contains Guan’s logo in green and #02473.
Consumers who have purchased the affected Enoki Mushrooms are urged to return them to the point of purchase for a refund.
Listeria monocytogenes, is a type of bacterium that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection (listeriosis) can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
