August 10, 2011: Salmonella Agona Outbreak Prompts Another Recall

GHSW, LLC of Houston, Texas recalled its fresh cut fruit products containing papaya, because the products have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella Agona. The recall, which occurred on July 27, 2011, was prompted after GHSW learned that the papayas used in their products were associated with the Agromod papaya recall of July 23, 2011.  Agromod papayas were linked to a multistate Salmonella Agona food poisoning outbreak, which has sickened 99 individuals in 23 states.

The GHSW products subject to recall were distributed to retail establishments and distribution centers in Texas.  Packaged in plastic containers, the recalled papaya containing products are as follows:

On February 6th GoldCoast Salads, based in Naples, Florida placed a recall of their Blue Crab Spread because of testing positive for the bacterium, Listeria monocytogenes. 

January 31, 2013: Back To Back Recalls From Whole Foods Infected Salmon
On January 29th, Whole Foods Market placed their second recall in less than a week on Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon due to a contamination from Listeria monocytogenes.
