February 5, 2010: Barbeque Pork Products Possibly Contain Allergen

is recalling approximately 2,850 lbs. of pork barbecue products because they may contain an undeclared allergen, soy flour, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. Soy flour is a known potential allergen, which is not declared on the label.

The product subject to recall includes:
  • 5-lbs. buckets of "The MURPHY HOUSE PREMIUM PORK BARBECUE; COOKED, UNSKINNED, PORK WITH BARBECUE SAUCE ADDED" Each package bears the establishment number "EST. 2135" inside the USDA mark of inspection.


The pork barbecue products were sent to distributors and restaurants in the North Carolina region.

On February 6th GoldCoast Salads, based in Naples, Florida placed a recall of their Blue Crab Spread because of testing positive for the bacterium, Listeria monocytogenes. 

January 31, 2013: Back To Back Recalls From Whole Foods Infected Salmon
On January 29th, Whole Foods Market placed their second recall in less than a week on Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon due to a contamination from Listeria monocytogenes.
