December 30, 2009: Restaurant Patrons Sickened at Iberia Peninsula Restaurant

Local health department officials are expected to investigate an incident which occurred on Sunday night at the Iberia Peninsula Restaurant located in Newark, New Jersey.

This comes as a result of a party held at the restaurant held there that evening.  There is the possibility that the foodborne pathogen, Salmonella, might be responsible for the illnesses.

 

So far, at least one person has been hospitalized and is in intensive care at the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
