January 5, 2009: Colorado Firm Recalls Burrito Products For Possible Listeria Contamination

The following product is subject to recall:
5.3-ounce packages of "7- ELEVEN Fresh to Go BURRITO WITH POTATOES, BACON, EGGS, & MONTEREY JACK CHEESE" with a "Best By" date of "Thursday 1225." The products bear the establishment number "EST. 19496" inside the USDA mark of inspection.

 According to the USDA website, the burrito products were produced on Dec. 23, 2008, and sold at convenience stores in Colorado. Consumers may have purchased these burrito products on Dec. 24 and 25, 2008. 

The bacterium, Listeria monocytogenes, can cause life-threatening infections in young children, the elderly, and immunocompromised.  In pregnant women, listeriosis (or Listeria infection) can cause miscarriage or stillbirth.

February 7, 2013: GoldCoast Recalls Blue Crab Spread Due To Listeria Contamination
On February 6th GoldCoast Salads, based in Naples, Florida placed a recall of their Blue Crab Spread because of testing positive for the bacterium, Listeria monocytogenes. 

January 31, 2013: Back To Back Recalls From Whole Foods Infected Salmon
On January 29th, Whole Foods Market placed their second recall in less than a week on Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon due to a contamination from Listeria monocytogenes.
